You’ve got your blog up and running. You post regularly. You’ve got an audience. But you are still not satisfied. You feel there is something more to do. Some way to make your blog better than it already is. Well, here are the five simple ways to improve your blog.By using these Improve Your Blog tips you can make your blog more reader friendly.
Improve Your Blog – Build A Better Blog
Look at your blog. Can you read it? Is the background color clashing with the font color? Is the font too small? Too big? Does it fit the screen size? Are your paragraphs clear and evenly spaced? In short, is your blog legible? No one wants to fight to read what you have written. If your readers can’t see it right away, they won’t stay to try and figure it out.
This kind of goes along with your blog being readable. Is it pretty? Attractive. Do the colors match and merge or do they clash. Do the photos pop out or fade into the background. Does your blog’s layout help or hinder your content? You want your blog to be appealing to readers, not appalling.
Click around on your blog. Do the widgets work? Does every page load? Every link? Does your blog flow? Can readers navigate it easily? If you have trouble getting around on your site, you can bet your readers are not going to take the time to figure it out. Make it easy for readers to keep reading. The longer they stay on your site the better it is.
Does your site do what it promises? If you bring readers in by saying one thing and then offer them something completely different, you are not going to keep many readers. Be honest in what your blog is about and stick with a central theme. Don’t bounce from one topic to another.
Keep it simple. Don’t confuse your readers with a lot of big words, unless your niche is only the well-educated or a certain job type, big words won’t fly. Make sure the passing reader will understand what you are talking about without subtitles. Speaking of subtitles, please, please use proper English. No one wants to read text-ese, Spanglish, or any other mutilation of English. Grammar counts, too.
In short, Improve Your Blog better isn’t hard. It takes a little time and effort, but it is well worth it. Take a second look at your blog and see which of these five improvements you can put into play.
